Caspa!

The name on the tip of everyones tounge, Dubstep’s poster boy, head of two of the biggest labels in the scene and releasing quality tunes on what seems like a daily basis. The kid seems to be going from strength to strength by taking the Dubstep scene out into the public eye, and hate him or love him  - even my Mum knows who Caspa is (to be fair though, my mum is probably cooler than your mum).

Releasing the first commercial Dubstep mix with label mate Rusko - Fabric Live 37 proved to be ground breaking for both Caspa’s career and the Dubstep movement. Now, suddenly, everyone wants to jump on board. And why should we take a snobby attitude towards it? Come on down.

Now this remix has been around for awhile - I’m just really slow - but its one that you’re sure to enjoy. Taking the heavily-sampled Moments In Love track by 80’s synth-pop group Art of Noise, Caspa delivers a tune that stirs something in me and makes so much sense. Besides the criticism, what I like about Caspa’s tunes and remixes a like is that they all seem to make sense to me. Dubstep as a genre on the whole allows for a lot of creativity and space in music. With the main elements being some rumbling bass and half-time cracking drums, you’re left with an infinite amount of options to build out a tune. Nerd? Yes.

However, I have been accused of having a Dubstep taste that borders on the “mainstream” side of the fence but to be honest, I couldn’t really give a fuck. I’m just not that much of a fan of popping party pills in da club, I’m sorry.
