NEW FLYING LOTUS!
Those exact words / sounds came out of my mouth when I read over at CDM that Flying Lotus is about to drop a new album on us in May. If you don’t know why I’m so excited, you need to go and check out his Los Angeles album, as well as the Reset EP. Both absolute fire, no matter who you talk to.
Possibly the greatest beat smith currently living, the new album to be called Cosmogramma has been described as “Space Opera” by FlyLo himself. This will not disappoint. From what I have heard the album is super lush with a definite operatic feel, and features guest work by amazing artists such as Ravi Coltrane, Thundercat, Erykah Badu, and Laura Darlington.
The album is set to be released on Warp records sometime in May and frankly, I’m already picking it as one of the best albums of 2010. To get you rev’d up, take a look at the track list below

As a nice little lead-in for the album drop, I’ve got a new-found favorite remix by Flying Lotus sent to me by my friend Nick D over at George FM.
The track is a remix of Lil’ Wayne’s I Feel Like Dying, which in its own strange way is an ode / tribute / story / warning about drugs. Don’t let that put you off though, FlyLo brings absolute heat with this tune which combines both head-exploding sound and beautiful feel.
