As I said before, big things going on at the moment. Heavy tunes coming out all over the place so I’m just going to start rolling them all out regardless of how late I am on the come up…

Truth be told I’m definitely late on this but by golly you can’t deny it. Redlight on the buttons for this one with Dynamite coming quite correct on the vocals. As usual this project has got as much hate as it has praise - but I’m loving it.

We are seeing a lot of female vocal tunes coming out in the scene at the moment (think Katy B / Mz Bratz / Dynamite) and I’m really enjoying them.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about the dark subbed tracks but something about the slight cheese of these tunes makes me happy.

So much great music going on right now, both from the UK and American camps - shit is going crazy.

This one is my current favorite tune from Skream’s much anticipated Outside The Box album. This tune definitely ups the game as far as I am concerned. Catchy, but still tight as fuck.

I have always been a huge fan of Skream. He for me has managed to both push boundaries, achieve success and keep it real all at the same time. I never miss his show with Benga on Rinse - pure dub and comedic gold!

Anyway - check out this tune and definitely go and pick up the album. You won’t be disappointed, support a brother.

Sweet Jesus, talk about a refreshing song.

Not just the fact that Cee-lo (think Gnarls Barkley) goes mental in a very happy way at some girl / guy - but the whole arrangement and sound is great.

Don’t get me wrong - I’m a huge fan of electronic music and what it has to offer, but it definitely is nice to hear a more organic track going down at the moment.

Cee-lo is an amazing singer, but we already knew that from Gnarls Barkley’s 2006 hit Crazy. What I didn’t know however is how funny this mofo actually is.

One thing to note is that this is a remix with 50 cent dropping a free style at the beginning, but the whole thing is still brilliant including the super simple yet effective video.

Sit back, turn it up and give a nice Fuck You to someone.

I’ve always wondered when Dubstep’s current sound would start making a slow shift back to its predecessor 2-Step / Garage, and it looks like the brothers that make up Disclosure have decided to take this upon themselves.

Sounding very much like a Burial track with less depression and a bit more in time - Linstigator will bring back memories of happy Garage. Synth pads, pitched-up vocal samples and that lovely syncopated rhythm.

Although this track is not a new one, it is new to me and has been on heavy rotation for the last 4 days - literally on repeat.

I’m sure I need to give no intro to the man Logistics who has delivered us yet another filthy rhythm.

Packed with a bassline ready to punch you in the stomach, his usual impeccable breaks and a cheeky vocal sample over the top - this track lives closely on the border of a liquid tune with a bit more punch.

Instant classic in my eyes.

Coki, bass extrodinaire and part of the Digital Mystikz crew drops a dirty bass heavy banger. Complete with reggae vocals and a dub’d out vibe and some sort of hypnotic violin(?) sound, this is one to roll out on your system loud.

My NBA state of the nation.

This year with the NBA finals there was actually buzz in NZ, this hasn’t been around since the early 90’s when it was MJ and Pippen vs. the Knicks. We would be in the schoolyard poking our tongues out trying to get a finger roll to drop over your best mate.

I do not know what caused this buzz but as a true fan it was good to see. This leads me to my next point, will the 10/11 season have the same buzz? It will certainly start off with a bang with the ‘new big… well … MASSIVE three’ down in South Beach, even though they still don’t have a team yet… I am pretty sure you can’t play in the NBA with only three players.

For all those bloggers/sports writers that say Lebron’s rings will not be worth anything … why not? You still have to win the thing! As my man Spike Lee said the “Knicks” are not giving them the ring yet, and I would have thought they are not even in the picture until they get Melio and CP3 in the next few years.

Lebron did right by him to get those rings and have a good time doing it. There is nothing like playing ball with your mates, which Bosh and Wade are from their playing days in the USA team. So go out and get your new Miami number 6 jersey and hopefully it will be as good as it was to watch this year.

I’m out like Boston in 7 (Nivin note: Ouch dude…) It still hurts, but at least Ray Ray is back, his jumper makes angels cry in pure joy.
